Shell has awarded a £75m gas contract extension to Wood Group PSN for works in Scotland.
Wood Group was initially brought onboard by Shell in 2007 and the two-year extension will see it continue to deliver mid-stream engineering and construction services to the St Fergus and Mossmoran gas plants.
Its full scope of work will include project management, engineering, construction, commissioning and maintenance support, as well as fabric maintenance and supply chain management services.
Robin Watson, UK managing director at Wood Group PSN, said: "We have an established working relationship with Shell that spans two decades.
"The contract enables us to develop our midstream onshore plants business and provide employment for over 500 people."
The St Fergus plant removes ethane, propane and liquids and delivers gas to the national grid.
At Mossmorran, natural gasoline, ethane, propane and butane are all extracted.
Up to 24 billion barrels of oil and gas are still under the seabed off the coast of Scotland, the BBC reported today (February 21st).
